#TeamRady gathered for a heartfelt farewell to our original hospital building, which first opened in August of 1954 during the polio epidemic. 👋 Now it's time for the old building to make way for something new & exciting — our seven story Intensive Care Unit & Emergency Services Pavilion! 🚧✨ We are ready to embrace the future of #RadyChildrens & continue providing the highest level of care to the children & families in our community. 💙

Our patients had a fantastic time at the #SickleCell Family Day! 🤩 The event, hosted by the #RadyChildrens Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center, brought our patients & families together to share their stories & gain a deeper understanding of sickle cell disease. The day was filled with engaging activities for families, including "Ask the Doctor," a teddy bear clinic, music therapy & more. 💙 This #SickleCellAwarenessMonth & beyond, we are honored to provide care for children with sickle cell disease.

During #NICUAwarenessMonth, meet Amir.💙 Born at just 24 weeks, Amir was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid builds up in the brain, causing increased pressure & potentially severe complications. After a four-month hospital stay & a successful surgery to implant a thin tube from his brain to his stomach, Amir's family finally received the news that they could take him home. Their transition back home was made smoother with the support of the Little Heroes League, a dedicated program designed to assist families of premature infants during their critical time in the hospital & their transition home. From helping with paperwork to coordinating follow-up appointments & offering companionship during medical visits, this program is a lifeline for families navigating the complexities of caring for their fragile newborns. 👶 Read Amir's full success story: https://rchsd.co/37ef72
