Saks Global CEO Marc Metrick shared a message honoring the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. As a New York based company with offices across the street from the 9/11 memorial, we are reminded daily of the sacrifices that were made 23 years ago. We send peace and strength to those who lost loved ones, family and friends on that fateful day.
Today, we come together to commemorate the anniversary of the tragedy that took place just across from where our offices sit today, 23 years ago. The senseless acts of violence that took the lives of so many on September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten. I hold a special place in my heart for those we lost, and for the first responders who fought bravely to protect their own. Year after year, I am fueled by the continued resilience and passion of our city in the wake of the attacks. We’ve weathered storms we could have never imagined and come out stronger on the other side. It’s overcoming adversities like these that fill me with pride - I will always be honored to call this city my home. Please join me in remembering and honoring those that we lost, and lifting up those that continue to feel the impacts of this tragedy today. We will never forget.

To celebrate the graduation of The New Wave at Saks class of 2024, our designer accelerator program focused on developing and supporting independent brands in accelerating their growth within the fashion and retail industries, we launched a dedicated marketing campaign spotlighting this year’s participants. The campaign features each brand across Saks’ digital channels and showcases the designers’ inspiring stories as well as their Pre-Fall and Fall collections, which are available for purchase on Saks.com. Additionally, each brand is featured in the Saks Fall Fashion Book and in a special window installation at the Saks Fifth Avenue New York flagship. We also hosted an intimate cocktail party at L’Avenue at Saks to toast the 2024 class. The New Wave at Saks, presented by Mastercard, furthers our mission to support the next generation of design talent, and we’re excited to see the participants’ continued growth across the fashion industry. Together with our long-time partner Oscar de la Renta, we were proud to host the annual fundraiser for the League to Save Lake Tahoe. The event, which showcased an early look at Oscar de la Renta’s pre-spring 2025 collection, raised a record-breaking $1.4 million for the nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
