Annalisa Heiss was only 16 when a severe car accident left her with a life-altering leg injury. Despite intense physical therapy, she faced limited mobility due to nerve damage. Determined to recover, she and her family traveled to South Florida for a groundbreaking clinical trial led by Dr. Allan Levi and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Through an innovative procedure using her own Schwann cells, Annalisa saw an incredible recovery. "Most of my motor function returned after two years," she shares. Today, she can walk, run, lift weights — and even play basketball. Annalisa’s journey not only restored her mobility but also inspired her dream of studying medicine and helping others.
