In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Viterra's Women's Leadership Council (WLC) hosted a companywide Pink Out for all US and Mexico locations. With such high participation, the WLC made a donation to the American Cancer Society. Because breast cancer is the most common cancer in the world, per breastcancer.org, we want to empower and encourage those who were recently diagnosed, in the middle of the battle or on the other side. #breastcancerawarenessmonth #viterraus

Our team had a great time at this year's Women in Agribusiness Summit! As an organization committed to its employees and their development, Viterra sponsored a group of 14 individuals to attend and connect with powerful women in the ag industry. Angela Heitzman, President of our Women's Leadership Council (WLC) had this to say about the event: "We used this amazing conference as an opportunity for the women of our company to go and gain insight and knowledge in our industry while also being able to network with women in the same field from all over the globe." Thank you to Women in Agribusiness for an excellent event!

Last month, Viterra US ran a period product drive in recognition of National Women’s Equality Day. In the #US, roughly a quarter of teenagers and a third of adults suffer from period poverty – the inability to afford menstrual supplies. Organised alongside Access Period, an Omaha-based NGO dedicated to combatting period poverty, the initiative raised awareness about the issue and collected materials to help those in local communities affected by it. In total, Viterra colleagues gathered over 8,000 menstrual products, which were then donated to Access Period to create three-month period product kits, which will be distributed among the organisation’s #community partners (including schools, health centres, access points, etc.) Reflecting on the initiative, Viterra US Marketing & Communications Manager Hanna Fuxa shared, “Even a small change (or drive in this instance) can have a lasting impact, whether it be raising awareness of menstrual inequality, or individuals receiving the kits, meaning they can fully participate in the daily activities many of us take for granted.” Having recently partnered with Access Period, we hope to continue supporting their fight against period poverty in the future. #theagriculturenetwork

Viterra US recently concluded its 12-week summer internship programme, an initiative designed to empower college students with real-world experiences in the agriculture industry. Our 36 interns travelled to Viterra facilities all over the US to build the skills necessary to be successful in their fields, connect with executives and other young professionals, and explore different career paths within Viterra. Interns also enjoyed leisure activities like a visit to Omaha’s zoo. Returning intern Chad Preble reflected on his experience at Viterra. “Over the past two summers at Viterra as an Application Development Intern, I’ve been fortunate to work with colleagues, managers, and mentors who have prioritised my growth. I’ve gained immense knowledge and experience as a software developer and valuable insights into Viterra and its operations. The positive impact that Viterra and its people have had on both my personal and professional life cannot be overstated.” Congratulations to these interns for successfully finishing their #internships. We hope to see them back at Viterra soon! #theagriculturenetwork
