We are constantly inspired by the work of our team members, the educators they work with, and the students those educators reach. Watching the team scale the #MaineSolutionariesProject alongside the #MaineDepartmentofEducation over this year has been a particularly big source of hope and energy as we think about all of the students (an estimated 7,000!) who will participate in #solutionary projects this year as a result of it!
I had an amazing day working on our goal of educating a generation of Solutionaries! In Brunswick, Maine, 41 educators came together to complete their plans for how they will facilitate student driven solutionary work. I am filled with respect for the teachers who came together to lean into learning about the #SolutionaryFramework and how to use it to design deep inquiry to meaningful action projects. Today, Day 4 of 4, energy was still high as discussions about fostering curiosity, compassion and inspiration, student engagement and teaching #criticalthinking, #systemsthinking, #creativethinking and #strategicthinking continued. My colleagues Angela Whittaker Rene Neuner, Andrea Freed, Josephine Cameron were there to provide support every step of the way. The #MaineSolutionariesProject is a wrap for 2024. When all is said and done, we estimate that more than 7000 students will have the opportunity to do #solutionary projects during the current school year in all 16 counties in Maine. Many thanks to the Interdisciplinary Instruction team at the #MaineDepartmentofEducation for making this project possible! And…today we also launched the #SolutionaryCore Design Project with incredibly thoughtful and passionate educators from six leading international schools in Europe and North America. Thanks to Bart Dankaerts and Rebecca G. for bringing this project from idea to reality. Shei Ascencio, Gitanjali Paul and I look forward to facilitating and to learning from and with everyone. The conversation that started today has the power to make a positive difference for many thousands of students! What a day!
