*Israel's New Tiebreaker:* IAI has revealed the Air Lora system, a ballistic missile that can be launched even from noncombat planes, well outside enemy airspace and detection range. The missile is guided by precise internal navigation systems to make it immune to jamming, and is stealthy enough to evade early warning systems. travelling at Mach 5 and striking from up to 90 degrees, it can be al but impossible to intercept and can neutralize critical assets with a single attack. In a war increasingly full of long-range missile attacks and defenses between Israel and Iran, such weapon could prove to be the deciding factor.

The Houthis school the world in asymmetric warfare New challenges arise amid an abundance of easily produced sophisticated weaponry MARC CHAMPION Mar 13, 2024 Advances in missile and drone production have democratized extremely powerful weapons that until recently were available only to the richest states What the Houthis are proving is that the developed West faces rising challenges on two fronts from weaker enemies, ranging from nonstate actors to the likes of Iran and Russia. And for all the still-extraordinary power of U.S. carrier fleets, the answer to those challenges can’t always boil down to just getting tougher, drawing lines and establishing deterrence — the standard Washington strategy.

The Kh-101 that struck Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kiev, on July 8th is a long-range, air-launched cruise missile developed by Russia's Raduga Design Bureau for The Russian Ministry of Defense. The missile operates in a manner similar to U.S. and western AF advanced cruise missiles, flying at subsonic cruising speeds of 700 to 900 kilometers per hour and an altitude of 30 to 70 meters above ground level. It has a range of approximately 2,500 to 2,800 kilometers and can carry a warhead weighing up to 450 kilograms. The Kh-101 utilizes inertial navigation augmented by GLONASS satellite navigation to identify flight path and targets, resulting in an accuracy of 5 to 20 meters. It is an air launched cruise missile delivered Tupolev Tu-160 "Blackjack" or Tupolev Tu-95MS "Bear" bombers, meaning it can be launched from well within the sanctuary of Russian airspace. Each Kh-101 is estimated to cost $10 to $13 million. There are several options to defend against this threat. Optimally, Ukraine would destroy the missiles on the ground in Russia, either in their storage facilities or by taking out the bombers themselves before takeoff. Once bombers are airborne with this payload, the next best option is to destroy them in flight. Finally, once the bombers have launched the missiles the only options are active defense (shooting down the Kh-101 from Patriot interceptors to three dollar 50Cal. rounds) and passive defense (shelter vulnerable personnel and assets, electronically attack guidance systems to decoy the missiles).

Ukraine hit a Russian Nebo-M radar station with ATACMS. Its destruction significantly reduces their ability to detect, track and intercept aerodynamic and ballistic targets. The Nebo-M is a very difficult target to destroy because it operates in stealth mode, scanning the horizon for airborne objects. The Russians have only 10 operational systems of this type left, each costing more than $100 million. Its destruction will facilitate the effective use of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles. It was not specified where the station was located. Judging by the use of ATACMS missiles, somewhere in the occupied territories. Because Jake Sullivan forbids to hit the Russian territory. https://lnkd.in/eZiUtuQC

June 1 Red Sea Update TAMPA, Fla. – Between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. (Sanaa time) June 1, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces destroyed one Iranian-backed Houthi uncrewed aerial system (UAS) in the southern Red Sea. USCENTCOM forces also observed two other UAS crash into the Red Sea. No injuries or damage was reported by U.S., coalition, or commercial ships. Additionally, between 7 and 11:30 p.m., USCENTCOM forces successfully engaged two Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) in the southern Red Sea. The ASBM were fired in the direction of USS Gravely and were destroyed in self-defense, with no damage or injuries reported by U.S., coalition, or commercial ships. It was determined these UAS and ASBM presented an imminent threat to U.S., coalition forces, and merchant vessels in the region. USCENTCOM's actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S., coalition, and merchant vessels. https://ow.ly/VLS350S5U1e

NEO Morning Observer: The AP has confirmed that the Houthi group, Ansar al-Allah, has obtained new quantitative missile technology. They have obtained a solid fuel missile which will be able to reach longer distances and threaten a much wider range of nations. The missile would also be capable of lifting and delivering a much heavier payload which means an increased munitions capacity. While central focus will likely be on Israel, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and nations in East Africa are under threat and could be held hostages or threatened with this new missile. This technology is slowly but surely changing the Shia Crescent into a new military ring of fire from which Israel and even Saudi Arabia can be threatened on virtually every side. As we have noted, the Iraqi militia groups are now actively involved in the deployment of drones against Israel and it is possible that, should the US and other powers continue to ignore this emerging threat, there could be more groups armed with increasingly sophisticated missile technology. The danger is that Iran will continue on a runaway missile offensive build up in the region increasing its hegemonic power. Further, with Ansar al-Allah already launching missiles and drones against Israel we anticipate that it is only a matter of days or weeks before one of these is launched towards it which may result in further escalation.

The Russian invaders began using the long-range self-propelled anti-tank missile system Bulsae-4 in the war against #Ukraine. This is reported by Militarnyi, Censor.NET informs. Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance in one of the areas discovered the complex when it was in the open. The Bulsae-4 can hit targets beyond line of sight at a distance of more than 10 km. Since there is almost no accurate data on the characteristics of North Korean weapons, some sources estimate the range of this complex to be between 10-25 kilometres. This range makes it possible to attack armoured vehicles from a safe distance for the complex itself. "The Bulsae-4 launcher consists of a rotating package of eight missile containers mounted on the chassis of a North Korean M-2010 6x6 wheeled armoured personnel carrier. The guided missile has large stabilisers and a mode to attack the target from above, where armoured vehicles have the thinnest armour. The missile is guided by an electro-optical warhead combined with command guidance via a fibre-optic cable. Thanks to this, the system operator performs manual control via video. During the missile's flight, he sees all the folds of the terrain, all the objects and can avoid obstacles and hit the target beyond the line of sight or even behind cover. The missile is probably for the Bulsae-4 self-propelled ATGM. Constant video contact allows for re-targeting if a higher priority target is detected. It also allows to achieve high accuracy at the maximum range from the first shot," the publication writes. Source: https://lnkd.in/d_KxJzxM
