Top 3 most stupid movies I know. Last week I posted a critical perspective on Hollywood movies. Somebody accused me in the comments of having an elitist attitude and choosing sides of intellectual filmmakers. Yes, I prefer more original movies, but I don't only like Ingmar Bergman or Kieslowski's Trois Couleurs trilogy (of which I only like Bleu). I think stupid movies deserve to be in the spotlight as well. Here's my top 3 of movies so stupid they are genius again: 3. Death Race 2000. In a dystopian society, a group of drivers race across the country and innocent pedestrians can be hit and killed for bonus points. Featuring Sylvester Stallone in one of his best roles since Rocky. 2. Rubber. A rubber tire rolls through the countryside and engages in a killing streak by letting people's heads explode with his psychokinetic powers. As the omniscient narrator who randomly pops up from trunk of a car explains, there "no reason". 1. Forbidden Zone. This movie makes no sense at all. There's no storyline, no plot, no character development. Just a load of baloney held together by silly music. It's therefore stupidness elevated into perfection.
