If you work with Microsoft services. I recommend looking at jit for privileged identity management. Jit is just in time access. The cool thing about JIT is that you can limit the amount of time someone has access to a manage roles inside Microsoft Entra. This gives you the capability to enabled mfa and require approval. You can also turned on ticket number and a small description as to why you need access to that account. I also created a policy to signed out manage roles after 1 hour if the user is inactive. I set this up on purpose for security reasons. I will most likely cover this topic this weekend on my YouTube channel. It's important to give least privilege access to each person. This can be anything from global admin, exchange admin or security operator. By having jit, it makes everything seamless from the security side of things. Today was an exciting day! I had the opportunity to run vulnerability scans and organize remediation tasks for over 60 stores to bring them to PCI DSS compliance. Additionally, my boss assigned me a project to streamline our imaging process and onboarding of new equipment using Intune. This required me to confront hybrid AD deployment, use PowerShell, and think outside the box while also plotting security features to maintain compliance in what is shaping up to become a hybrid Azure/AD environment. As someone who hasn't been given a specific IT role, I'm curious to know what role typically handles these tasks. Nevertheless, I'm thrilled to have been trusted to reshape a piece of our infrastructure to bring us into a more forward-thinking posture.
