Spouse: Olga Gerron (?–October 28th 1944, their deaths)
A German-Jewish actor and director.
Gerron created the role of 'Tiger Brown', the Lord Mayor of London, in Berholdt Brecht and Kurt Weill's "The Threepenny Opera" (1928) and made "Mack the Knife" his signature song in his stage act.
He also appeared in the films "Diary of a Lost Girl"(1929) and "The Blue Angel" (1930).
Gerron refused to leave Germany after the Nazi takeover in 1933, even though he was Jewish, and in 1942 he was sent to the Theresienstadt concentration camp at in Terezin, Czec
