FINALLY other than "found footage" horror movies, a modern horror movie scared me. I am not a fan of the new horror because well they try to hard to scare you and what is in is Insidious can be found in all these modern horror films, but its done very very well in this. Elements of this movie were pretty awesome as they seemed to be a throwback to older horror movies from the 60's and 70's (the opening title credits in big red lettering), but then on the other hand, half the movie is just flat, dull and predictable. “It took me a while to watch 'Insidious' and its follow ups, with so much going on with my studies and commitments and with an ever growing watch and review list. Decided to finally watch them all, with the intent of reviewing the latest film as part of my quest to see as many 2018 films as possible and wanting to see how it compared with the previous outings. Also with an appreciation, if not quite undying love, for horror.

Having seen 'Insidious', it is not a horror classic, or at least to me it isn't, and it is understandable as to why people don't like it. Especially if over-familiarity, strangeness and silliness are not for you.
