Is it meant to be a comedy?
Here's the thing about exorcism-related horror movies: exorcisms are incredibly uninteresting in a cinematic production. Sure, it's exciting to consider a battle royale between an agent of Satan and an agent of God, but exorcisms merely boil down to a priest screaming religious words with wild a... read more

“Against all odds, a film that avoids overbidding and mediocrity by hitting the right spot despite a subject that is too hackneyed these days.” read more

"Stellar casting for this overlooked take on the subject of exorcism. Though it doesn't touch the greatness of giants like The Exorcist and The Exorcist III it, like them, tackles the subject matter with earnestness and solemnity rather than going for cheap thrills. Familiar themes of faith, doubt, and the nuances of the craft of the exorcist abound but are given a unique allure given the basis of the material on actual experiences. "

“I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie but since I always had a weak spot for Anthony Hopkins, I thought I might as well check it out. Then, I have to admit that the whole thing had some potential and I liked the fact that they tried to tackle more or less seriously the subject of exorcism. Unfortunately, they only tried but never succeeded, I'm afraid. Basically, even though they gave some space to discuss the fact that someone supposedly possessed might actually have some psychological issues which was interesting, it was unfor” read more

"Like stories on exorcism and the devil? Based on the life of one of the most famous exorcists of America, Father Gary Thomas, this movie will scare the hell out of you. One piece of advice: Don't try this alone."
