The padded shoulder strap is a major bonus that doesn't dig into my shoulder, and I found that it didn't feel heavy even though it was stuffed to the brim. The interior is also lined with an easy-to-clean nylon material, which is handy just in case my makeup bag leaks. And while this might seem like a silly detail, I find that the bottom of the bag is the perfect width to be placed on top of my carry-on suitcase.
