Sky Rojo (2021-2023)

The Spanish series Sky Rojo brought a blast of heat with it when it premiered on Netflix the very final day of winter in the year of our lord 2021. Although completely produced in Spain, the show owes its entire aesthetic to the Roger Corman Chicks with Guns exploitation films from half a century earlier in America. It's also drenched in a decidedly neon glow straight out of Michael Mann's entire 80s oeuvre. The conniving flesh peddler Romeo (Asier Etxeandia) goes a step too far one day and three of his working girls—Coral (Veronica Sanchez), Wendy (Lali Esposito), and Gina (Yany Prado)—go on the run with a bunch of his money in search of a better life for themselves. Romeo has his assistant Cachopo (Niko Verona) dispatch his two most trusted henchmen Moises (Miguel Angel Silvestre) and Christian (Enric Auquer) to track them down, but while their loyalty to Romeo is strong, neither is the sharpest tool in the shed. This bodes well for the women on their journey to freedom, though it will most assuredly be a bloody and hard fought victory. In the first season's penultimate episode, we finally get the scene we've waited for all season long, when all four men end up together in a hot tub! Asier Etxeandia is already seated in the hot tub when Miguel Angel Silvestre and Enric Auquer strip down to join him, Enric flashing frontal and Miguel briefly baring his buns! Then as Enric starts going down on Asier, Niko Verona enters and eventually strips completely nude—though we only see his ass—before joining his pals in their hot tub party!
