Continue (2022)

In this movie based on her own real-life experience, writer-director Nadine Crocker plays Dean, a woman suffering from depression who finds herself involuntarily committed to a mental health facility after her most recent suicide attempt. During her stay, she gets help from Janet the therapist (Emily Deschanel) and the new friend she makes there, a heroin addict named Bria (the niptastic Analeigh “Lio” Tipton). Though she’s eventually let out and finds new love with a musician named Trenton (Shiloh Fernandez), Dean’s issues are still under the surface threatening to pull her back into the bleakness of her own thoughts. Nadine doesn’t avoid the darkness, nor does she shy away from showing off her terrific T’n’A as she and Shiloh have some tender hotel sex. Hopefully, it’s a trend that will continue throughout her future films!
