They are easily accessible from Amsterdam by bus from Noord bus station (which is just a few minutes by metro from Central Station). It is also very easy to travel between the villages themselves by bus (or the ferry between Volendam and Marken!) 5. VOLENDAM 🚌 From Amsterdam Noord bus station: Bus 316 or 110 (20-24 min, € 4.35-4.47) 📸 Streets: The harbour (that’s pretty much it 😂), maybe Doolhof behind the harbour. Eat some 🐟 at the harbour! 🛌

Amsterdam is famous for its canals and bikes, but there are some things we wish we knew before going.

1. All the famous points like Anne Frank house and Van Gogh Museum needs to be pre booked literally months before.
2. Explore beyond city center, don’t forget to go for a day trip to Zaanse Schans for the most beautiful windmill town. Its full of beautiful houses, mills, windmills, barns and workshops
3. Yes the cycles are common means of transport but don’t be surprised to see a lot of them dumped in the river
4. You can rent a bike to get around but be very careful of the traffic and road rules as they are very particular
5. Do not walk on the cycle tracks
