2.9M views · 24K reactions | In honor of it being baking season, a repost of my loved cinnamon butter babka!!! 🤎🤎 For the Dough: 540 g flour 1 tablespoon dry active yeast ¾ teaspoon kosher salt 2 tablespoons cornstarch 114 g unsalted butter, melted 2 eggs 25 g avocado oil 250 g milk 60 g sugar Filling: 150 g softened butter 150g brown sugar 2 tablespoons cinnamon Sugar Syrup (optional) 120 ml water 100 g granulated sugar 1. Combine dry ingredients in mixer bowl. Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix with dough hook for 3 mins. Cover bowl and let rise for 1-2 hours. 2. Make filling by combining butter, sugar and cinnamon until a paste forms. 3. Dust surface with flour. Roll risen dough out into a large rectangle. Spread filling on the dough and roll it up. Cut in half lengthwise. Flip cut side up and twist the two halves. Connect the ends to form a ring. Place in parchment lined 10 inch cake pan and let rise for 1 hour. 4. Make simple syrup by heating water and sugar on stovetop on medium heat for about 5 mins. Until thickened. 5. Bake at 350 F for 35-45 mins, rotating half way so it bakes evenly.
