I've taken the lid and I've got a knob that I put on some E 6000 to glue on the top. I'm going to set it aside and let that dry. Now we're going to scrub up that glass jar and get it nice and clean and take the label off. If you find that you have a little bit of a pickle smell in your jar. Put a little bit of Javex in your water and let it sit overnight and that usually gets rid of it. We're going to put on two coats of my homemade chalk paint. This adheres really well a glass jars. And we're going to let them dry completely in between each coat and once the second coat is completely dry, I'm going to put a graphic on the jar. I've printed this off on regular computer paper using my laser jet printer and we're going to apply it to the jar using my Decoupage by Deco Art. This is the exact same product as Mod Podge. I'm going to put a light coat over that entire graphic and then center it right on the jar where I want it and then get out any bubbles and wrinkles. Once that E 6000 had dried on the lid, I took it outside and I spray painted it with some black spray paint. Now, I'm going to decopage some napkins around that pickle jar. I'm just tearing out the flowers that I like in this napkin and that's what we're going to use and I like to have a ragged edge around the flowers because it blends in better when you put it on. We're going to take the paper off of this graphic first before we decoupage the napkin on. I've cut a little rag with a little bit of water on it and I've just dampened that graphic until you can start to see them show through and then you rub off the paper and we're going to be left with a beautiful graphic. Now, let's put this napkin on the pickle jar. I'm using the Decoupage again and we're just going to place the napkins where we want them all over the pickle jar. Once I have all the napkins put on, I'm just taking a sander and I'm just taking it off just a little high edges of the Decoupage so it's nice and smooth and then, we're going to seal it up with some polyacrylic sealer. And we've taken an ugly old pickle jar from the recycling bin and this is what we've upcycled it to. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and it's free home decor that you can make. Let me know down in the comments what you think.
