Kitty Cotten on Instagram: "Easily my favorite kitchen upgrade I’ve made in our house. Old tube TV cabinet turned into a coffee bar and bar cabinet combo. I painted the whole thing in “oval room blue” by @farrowandball, added bead board to the back and a piece of butcher block countertop inside. Then I drilled a hole in the back for outlets, added shelves and wine glass racks to the top. We’ve used it daily since I made it 2 years ago and it’s held up great! For all those who don’t like when people paint wood furniture, don’t worry I’m right there with you, but this was a mix of solid wood and cheap laminate. The rest of our kitchen is oak cabinets and I wanted some color!"

It’s definitely more on the beige side with a slight flash of green. Warm and inviting, it’s dark enough not to look washed out in rooms with good natural light. In north facing rooms, this shade will warm up your space without feeling too heavy. Revere Pewter is darker and moodier - perfect for making larger well lit rooms more intimate or for creating cozy bedrooms. In most lights, Revere Pewter will look gray/beige leaning towards the gray/green spectrum. However, in certain west facing rooms it may flash a bit pink/beige. TIP: Both these shades look stunning on kitchen cabine

Save this for reference later and FOLLOW for more budget friendly DIYs!! - Clean all surfaces to be covered with liquid wood. No sanding needed. Remove drawers and cabinets as well as hardware. Tape off walls and floors. If it’s very greasy use a heavy duty cleaner like Krud Kutter. - Apply liquid wood to all surfaces with a foam brush in long even strokes. I used Retique It Light Wood Color. Paint two coats. Wait two hours in between coats. - Apply stain of choice. Allow it to sit on the surface for about two minutes before wiping it off in long even strokes. I did a second coat once the first was dried. I used V
