Once cured we buffed on some Tung oil to rejuvenate and seal the wood. You can also use a varnish or any other oil based top coat! #furniturerestoration #toolfree #easyflip #easydiy #simplediy #furniturestain #furnitureflip #fliptips | Piper + Julia 🌿 DIY + Furniture Flip Tips

4.1M views · 14K reactions | It's all in the details! Throwback to this job by Wesley Knight, Painter And Decorator using our Wood Repair Filler! 🤩 "This job in particular involved the repair of 7 door frames, following a change of level of the flooring. Filler used was Tourpet Wood Repair Filler. One step that I missed out on the reel was to multi tool underneath the filler when dry. This breaks the bond between filler and floor. This is particularly important with wooden floor, as this can move, creating cracking at that area. Breaking the seal, and then using a flexible caulk to fill the gap gives it a much better chance of longevity. All the frames now look a lot tidier and sharper." We certainly agree! | Toupret UK

Scrape off using putty knife.. as much as you can so you don’t gunk up and waste too much sandpaper. 4. Scrub and dissolve remaining gunk using lacquer thinner and steel wool (#0 is my favourite) 5. Wait till dry and sand with 150 and 180 6. Voila! You have a perfectly bare top that you can now finish any way you like 😊 #furniturerestoration #diy #woodworking #paintedfurniture #furnitureflip #furnitureflipper #furnituremakeover #diyvideos | Charlie • furniture upcycling & diy

52K views · 916 reactions | This is one of my favorite tricks although there are a few very important things to note if you are going to do it: 1. It is extremely important that the part you will be duplicating is firmly attached, in good shape and completely sealed with top coat. This is not something to be done on raw wood. If the wood isn’t sealed the lubing oil will contaminate the wood and cause problems with later finishing. Because of that this should actually be one of the last things you do when refurbing. Fix everything, seal everything and only then do this. Then make sure you clean the area to remove any lingering oil 2. The type of filler you choose goes a long way in how easy or hard this is. I strongly recommend using a two part epoxy filler over normal wood filler or bondo. The two part epoxy is both stronger and takes longer to dry and cure. That means you don’t have to rush when filling the mold so you can be sure to get into all the crevices for detail. It also means there is a point where the filler is dry and strong but is also flexible. Not being stiff and brittle and having a little bend goes a long way in getting it out of the mold easily and free of breaks. The one im using her is PC Woody and I highly recommend it. Other than those two points the whole thing is pretty straightforward and fun. I don’t always do it as I think antiques are allowed some imperfections but sometimes the loss is a bit much. Whenever it detracts or distracts this is the play for me 😊 #refinishingfurniture #flippingfurniture #furnitureflipping #furniturerestoration #diytips #diytricks #antiquelovers #furnituremakeover | Second Wind VTG

9.5K views · 2K reactions | 🎨✨ First Things First: I always start with stripper to remove most of the old finish. This protects the wood and saves time, and prevents damage—especially on delicate veneers! 🛡️ ✨Then apply THE GOLDEN RULE OF SANDING: Don’t Skip More Than One Grit or you’ll end up with scratches that won’t sand out! 🪵 Skipping grits when sanding can lead to uneven surfaces because each grit refines the wood gradually. Here’s why it matters: * Each grit removes scratches from the previous one, preventing visible imperfections. *Using consecutive grits reduces effort and prevents excessive wear on finer grits. *Skipping grits can leave micro-scratches that show after staining or finishing. * You want Surface Uniformity: Consistent sanding ensures even finishes. Skipping from 80 to 220-grit may leave scratches that the finer grit can’t remove. If you ou start with 80 grit, your next step should be 100 or 120—not 150 or 180. • Solid wood? Start with 80 or 100 grit to remove imperfections. • Wood veneer? Start higher, around 150 grit, to avoid sanding through the thin layer. Each step smooths your surface and preps it for a flawless finish. Skipping grits? That’s how swirl marks and uneven finishes sneak in! 🚫 Bonus Tip: The Pencil Trick 🖊️ Scribble pencil marks on the surface before sanding. As you sand, the marks disappear, showing exactly where you’ve sanded and what’s left. No guesswork, no missed spots. #sanding #woodworkingtips #furniturefinishing | Purposely Refurbished

Save for later!🤯 - NO SANDING REQUIRED; however, I did a light scuff sand since it will get heavy use by my kids. - Clean the surface to be covered with a wet paper towel or Krud Kutter if really greasy. - Apply two coats of liquid wood n primer in long even strokes waiting two hours in between coats. - Apply a light coat of the wood n stain covering the surface. Finish with long even strokes. Work in sections of your furniture. - Use a paint brush to brush long even strokes lightly. Finish with a whisk broom brush in the same pattern. This creates the streaked pattern. - After 48 hours, apply two coats of matte sealer. Furniture is ready to use in a week but will continue to cure over the next month. #beforeandafter #transformation #budgetfriendly #diy #diyproject #affordable #diyhome #homeideas #steps #myhome #liquidwood #diyonabudget #black #howto #doityourself #stain #kitchenideas #cabinetideas #potterybarnlook #lookalike #hacks #hack #cabinet #easydiy #tipsandtricks #tutorial #diytutorial #stepbystep #modernhome #neutralhome | MICHELLE | Neutral Modern Home
