Elsa Schiaparelli

The aristocratic Italian-born French designer Elsa Schiaparelli is best known for the iconoclastic and surrealistic style in her fashion work. While her rivals Gabrielle Chanel (Chanel called her- “that Italian artist who makes clothes”) and Madeleine Vionnet set the period’s standards of classic elegant taste and beauty in fashion design, Schiaparelli flouted in much more surrealistic manner. http://www.fashioncommeg.com/2014/03/15/elsa-schiaparelli-difficult-times-fashion-always-outrageous/
