Honey jar, spices, coffee grounds, tea bags, sugar...how do you use a jar in your home? This is how I like to create my gallery on a wheel thrown jar base. Until I got the perfect @diamondcoretools trimming tool, that just so happened to have this squared off end, I used a generic wood tool with the rounded back and it did the job wonderfully! This fun guy is thrown using @kentuckymudworks Brown Bear Clay (my fav fav), on my gorgeous @hartleyandnoble batt system which sits beautifully over my @speedball_ceramics wheel 😍 and of course, the gallery is created with the versatile T102 trimming tool from @diamondcoretools Let me know if you have any que How To Throw A Lidded Jar, Darting Ceramics, How To Throw A Mug On The Wheel, Ceramic Honey Jar, Pottery Jars With Lids, Throwing Wheel Pottery, Lidded Vessels Ceramic Pottery, Pottery On The Wheel, Pottery Wheel Ideas For Beginners

Exploring cups like these, whether they were tumblers or smaller yunomi, were some of my favorite chapters of making in 2023. I really like how they are more open at the top than my past cup designs, and I look forward to further experimentation with their size and proportions… most notably how small I make the foot. What is your favorite size of cup? What sort of volume/capacity do you look for? I threw each of these tumblers from 2.5 pounds of @tuckers.pottery dark stoneware @bklynclay, carved them using a @mudtools carving bow and fettling knife on a Yunomi Cups Ceramic Pottery, Carving On Pottery, Ceramic Tumblers Handmade, Hand Built Pottery Vase, Unique Pottery Ideas, Pottery Vases Handmade, Alex Olson, Pottery Tumblers, Carving Pottery

m. sward ceramics on Instagram: "In between wholesale orders, I’m trying to squeeze in a few cone 10 pieces for an upcoming wood firing. For the last wood firing, I brought some colanders because I wasn’t really thinking about how my work would fit in the kiln (and I was embarrassed when I realized that large bowls are not a good plan). This time, I’m making small, narrow cylinders so my pieces can get squeezed into convenient spots as opposed to taking up a ton of room 🫠 So, if you get invited to a wood firing, bring small + narrow pieces 👍 the more you know 🌈" Ceramic Cookie Jar Handmade, Pottery Modelling, Lidded Pottery, Large Bowls, Clay Inspo, Pottery Projects, Pottery Lessons, Clay Jar, Ceramic Dog Bowl
