We kept seeing ads and thought we would never need that. We were wrapping the babies just fine without it. Or so we thought. Finally we decided to spend the money to try it. Holy CRAP! We love this so much we bought the large and another small so we had an extra for twins. What we love: that this stays on the baby the whole time you are swaddling them. It keeps them warm and toasty you and put your colored swaddles OVER it. This keeps their arms and legs in so it is on less thing to battle with. It also keeps them feeling like they are in the womb which makes them calm. We are huge fans of these! However, Jackie was sick today. I was PANICKING! So I went onto Swaddlepro.com and watched their tutorial. That was so freaking helpful! I was able to wrap the baby in the swaddle pro, get her calm and comfy and then use my colored wrap around that. When we look back at how our newborn sessions went in the past, it blows our mind that we can now do over 100 newborns in a year! Our sessions used to take HOURS! Like 3+ hours- it was so hard to schedule other sessions not knowing how long a newborn session could take. We wish we knew these tips back then: Use a heater. Baby’s HATE to be cold. You will be shocked how easily they fall asleep when they are warm. Swaddle the baby. We start every session with the baby swaddled. Use a pacifier. When you see the baby take that sigh of relief when they start to suck, you will feel a lot of the stress come off of your shoulders. Just when you think you got it, the swaddle comes undone and the baby’s arms and legs are free. What are you doing wrong? We totally get it! We questioned this for so long when we started our newborn sessions. Here are some super easy tips you can implement today that will make it easier to swaddle a baby: -use stretchy fabric. This allows you to pull the excess and get a nice tight swaddle with extra to tuck in in the back when you are at the end of the fabric -use a swaddle aid. We always thought we didn’t need “one of those” swaddle aids. But once we got it, IT CHANGED EVERYTHING!
