Tier 3 is the final tier in RTI. It serves students who were not responding to interventions in tier 1 or 2. Interventions are individualized and intensive. Tier 3 serves about 3-5% of the student population. Assessment is usually weekly. If students get to tier 3, there may be a recommendation made for special education services. I prepared this presentation for a nearby elementary school who hired me to help them with Tier 2 of the RTI (Response to Intervention) process including reading interventions, high yeild strategies for Tier 1 and Tier 2 and strategies for best practices in literacy instruction, literacy intervention and literacy progress monitoring.
