1. Know your sun exposure. This helps with planting timelines. Is your location full sun, even during the spring weather or is it part shade? We have one trellis in full sun spring and summer so we just planted peas in that trellis today (our last frost date mid April). Our other two trellises are actually in part shade until May and we need the sun to move over just a bit. We plant our other trellises first two weeks of April so they get the sun they need. We harvest it all in July at the same time!

2. Don't mix varieties! Snap peas and shelling peas are harvested at different times. You won't know which ones to harvest early as they get intertwined. Shelling peas are meant to grow large and the skin is harder and not as tasty Snap Pea Trellis, Snap Peas Garden, Pea Growing, Pea Trellis, Growing Peas, Pea Plant, Growing Tips, Snap Peas, Spring Weather

I'll be starting to plant peas in the ground over the next three weeks. I'm zone 9 in Canada

If your peas will be in full sun then plant (this month) if your last frost date is mid April like mine. I'll be planting one trellis this week and the other in 3 weeks. My peas need the sun to shift a little bit more in the part shade bed.

Plant the peas on each side of a trellis for maximum yield and a full look

Look at the varieties!👇

Sorry about the delay. Life - you know - ummm, well, anyway. Here is the next step. Now, the book tells me to glue the joints with pvc cement. If something gets damaged, I can easily replace the broken part. However, living in a climate that is prone to severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and…
