The Article of the Week Reading Assignment for jr high and high school students. I developed the “Article of the Week” assignment. This assignment provides the student with a short, content-related, current event article to read, annotate, and write a reaction to. Annotating texts is a supremely beneficial skill that our students are probably not getting enough practice developing. This drives the student to think more deeply about the content, as well as practice their writing skills.
