Llamas usually respect a fence. A good 4 foot board or wire fence is adequate. Barbed wire & electric fences are no good. Unless chased, llamas normally don't jump a fence. To separate Males & females make the fence a bit higher. A passage way between fence lines can lessen the chances of escape. But, they are good jumpers & a young animal being weaned will jump a fence to get to mom. If they do get out they usually don’t go too far as they like to keep the rest of the animals in sight.
