Newton House symbol stone 1 (the Newton stone)
The Newton Stone, an ancient pillar stone, found in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The stone contains two inscriptions, one identified as Ogham, but the second script has never been positively identified.

The Picts
It is sculptured in relief, with Ogham inscriptions down each of the four angles. The front bears a celtic cross with interlacing, and the back bears symbols including fish monsters, the elephant or dolphin, double disc and z-rod.

Strathmartine 1 Pictish stone - photo by KM101011, via Flickr; A 'Class I Pictish Symbol Stone' that was formerly built into a wall at the south-east of Strathmartine Castle, and now located in McManus Galleries, Dundee, Scotland. The stone has two symbols; a 'crescent & V-rod' and below a Kelpie (alternatively Water Horse/Pictish Beast). The stone is red sandstone, and stands almost 4.5 feet high.
