Global Team of 200

After extensive travel I had the desire to share what I had learned about understanding other cultures. My goal as a documentarian was to teach through images and film. The idea to open each others worlds of understanding through exposure to various cultures and issues works perfectly with Social Media as well. It has become an amazing tool for exposure, and ideal to use towards Social Good. I believe that when people are educated on the issues they are compelled to take action.

Using social media for social good means we can take to power of a collective voice and amplify it to make a real difference. We all must play a part to make the world a better place and if this is one thing I can do, along with 199 other moms, then no one will stop me, and us!

More and more people are engaging in social media. It's allowing all of us to be connected in ways that weren't possible in the past. The opportunity to share and create a collective voice for social good are endless. I truly believe that together we can make the world a better place and social media will help pave the way.

Here is one of my fave quotes, by Mother Teresa: “We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.” This is our duty. Service is the rent we pay for living.

I am thrilled and honored to be a part of the Global Team of 200! My work as a blogger has, up to now, been a fun and creative diversion from the frenzy of juggling school calendars, extra-curricular activities and family schedules. But I feel that I've stepped things up a notch to a higher purpose by being part of a social media force for social good - and it makes my heart sing! Using my social influence to support important causes refuels my passion for being in this space and gives me great hope for the future of blogging and the power it has to change lives for the better.

Being a blogger and having that voice, it only makes sense to me to use that platform to promote social good. Taking the time to post about important causes is such an easy way to spread awareness and make an impact.

I wanted to be part of Social Good Moms because the instant I joined the mommy club I wanted to make the world a better place for my children. Being blessed with a gift of gab and writing led me to blogging. I am happy to be making a difference by using my little voice for causes all mothers are drawn to. The fact that same little voice is amplified through social media excites the impact I can make and that is double when I am able to join a like-minded group of moms tackling causes with our passion.

I have a voice with my blog and I want to use it for good and not just mindless chatter. I want to be a role model for my children as well and show them that they can use their voice for good things and to help others who may not be able to help themselves.

I work as a Special Education Advocate. Advocate is from the Latin: ad - another & vox – voice. I love exploring and learning new things and sharing those things via social media is an effective way to amplify your voice. It's sometimes a difficult world to navigate, and you have to find the balance and inspire people to want to change or facilitate change, rather than just feel sorry for you or your cause. I love that I have heard from relatives, acquaintances or old college friends who have said "Wow, I didn't realize...." and they have been inspired to make a difference. I also love hearing from my readers who are appreciative and say things like "Thanks, I didn't know about that!" So if I have readers thanking me for showing them a good deal, a new outdoors spot they didn't know about or a special ed tip...I am excited at the prospect of using that voice to share the projects that Global Team 200 will be amplifying.

Using my influence for good means reaching those I wouldn't necessarily come into contact with on a daily basis and leaving a meaningful impression on their life, whether big or small.

Social Media for Social good means bringing awareness to topics like world hunger and infection control. Ignorance is no longer an option, and with the power of social media and active mom bloggers, readers will know and fully understand what is going on with those topics. I would love to use my "reach" to truly reach others.

Social Media for Social Good means the ultimate in empowerment. No longer can anyone think they are too small to make a difference. Social media allows everyone the chance to do their part and together all these parts form a powerful, driving force of change. I'm so proud, that even I, a small business Mompreneur, can use my voice to be part of something huge.
