It was the beach glass look of Bretagne Blue - it's blend of fine architectural glass and opalescent oyster shells suspended in a white base - that instantly captivated this coastal loving couple. This was going to be coastal kitchen anchored with Vetrazzo recycled glass countertops.

Working with local artisan Erdei Designs, Eversoll designed a custom pedestal table crafted from the Costa Rican Guanacaste tree whose live edge kissed the Vetrazzo surface, effectively connecting the two elements. Even the Vetrazzo Bretagne Blue surface that tops the main island — with its melange of fine architectural glass and delicate oyster shells — combines form and function to accommodate the homeowner’s lifestyle.

For the kitchen, the homeowners went for minimalist and pristine. Preferring the space to be clutter-free, they wanted everything tucked away and hidden. Sub-Zeros are one of the chic appliances hiding behind the vertical cabinets. With Wolf ovens, a Gaggenau cooktop, and Mia Cucina high gloss lacquer resin cabinets, the space is stylish and sophisticated. The back wall in the kitchen has reversed painted glass that matches the color of the cabinetry.

When Judy Moore was shopping for a countertop for her North Carolina beach home she fell in love with the look of Bretagne Blue with it’s turquoise tones and Georgia marble pieces, but the price seemed out of her reach. She briefly considered settling for a lower end recycled countertop from a home store but that was a dream killer. Instead Moore made her favorite kitchen element, the Bretagne Blue recycled glass, her focus.
