Plan a Day in the Niagara Region

How to spend a day (or more!) in Niagara after dropping off your bouquet.

Coming to drop off your bouquet in person or planning a day trip to the Niagara Region? Consider us your local tour guides! Below you’ll find some of our favourite spots to help you plan a perfect day of exploring, eating, drinking and enjoying the region.

EAT AND DRINK

Whether you’re hungry after a drive or want to get some sustenance before a hike or a wine tasting, there are a couple must-stops on your journey when it comes to snacks or meals.

Revalee Brunch Cafe

Need a place to start your day? Revalee Brunch Cafe is your spot. Offering modern brunch fare and unique vegan dishes, this place has something for everyone. Menus are prepared in-house using fresh ingredients that are organically and locally sources whenever possible. Pick up some meals, grab a latte, and show some local products from Niagara favourites during your stop here.

The Watering Can

Flowers and food can co-exist, and they do at The Watering Can Flower Market. This European inspired shop is bursting with plants and flowers for you to buy (and maybe even press?!). Stop in to peruse flowers and stay for a coffee or lunch while you’re there. If you’re lucky and timing works out you can check out some of their fun workshops – our owner, Devon, has been known to host flower pressing workshops on occasion!

Bench Brewing Company

Niagara may be known for our wineries, but beer drinkers can also find sweet spots to wet their whistle. Our go-to is Bench Brewing Company. Not only do they have outstanding beers, but the food is phenomenal. If you’re here in warmer weather, the patio is a go-to stop for a lunch date or an afternoon snack. We would definitely recommend the warm buttered pretzel.

EXPLORE

Before taking advantage of the amazing wines local to the area, get out and explore the natural beauty of the region with two of our favourite local spots to hike and get grounded.

Ball’s Falls

Located within the Twenty Valley, Ball’s Falls offers incredible scenery including the Niagara escarpment and gorge site, two waterfalls, historical buildings, guided tours, an Annual Thanksgiving festival and even a dreamy wedding venue.

Charles Daley Park

Love the water? Charles Daley Park is a 22.5 acre waterfront park year round. With plenty of free parking, a playground, a ton of green space and two beaches, this is a perfect place to catch up about your day and take in nature. Fifteen and Sixteen Mile Creeks both flow into Lake Ontario at the park making it a great spot for canoeists and hikers. Plus, if you’re here in the summer months, chances are high you can catch some great (and often free) entertainment at the bandshell.

WINERIES

With over 50 wineries in the Niagara region, there’s a lot to choose from when it comes to wines! Our favourites offer a good mix of tasty wine, beautiful views and good food.

Honsberger Estate Winery

Steeped in tradition from six generations of farmers, the Honsberger Estate Winery belongs to the Honsberger family. In 2007, they planted 8 acres of Cabernet Franc and 3 acres of Reisling grapes which are now used to produce their own wine and other wineries in the region. Head here to enjoy small-batch wine on the stunning property, taste their farm-to-table food (specifically their thin, wood-fired crust pizza) and occasional events held on site.

13th Street Winery

13th Street Winery won the National Wine Awards of Canada 2022 Ontario Winery of the Year and for good reason! This beautiful spot specializes in hand-crafted sparkling wines, Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. While you’re there, explore the expansive grounds to see the sculptures and art, eat at the seasonal outdoor bistro and try out their famous butter tarts from the 13th Street Bakery.

Malivoire
For our sustainability lovers, Malivoire has been pioneering an innovative, eco-centric approach to wine growing since 1996. Visit for a tasting flight and stay for another glass in their Wine Theatre, on their patio or in the vineyard. Make sure to check the event calendar when planning as they often have seasonal festivities like live music on the patio.

Megalomaniac

In our opinion one of the most beautiful wineries in the region, Meglomaniac is open year-round for wine sampling, tastings, vineyard walks and more. Taste and shop a variety of local’s favourite wine before eating at their delicious restaurant. Be sure to plan a cute outfit because you’ll want to take a picture of their rolling views atop the Niagara Escarpment.
