Laurie Stokes

Laurie joined Savills as a director within the retail department in November 2023 when Nash Bond was acquired by Savills. His focus is on representing central London landlords providing them with development leasing and occupational advice. 

Laurie has previously worked at Nash Bond, Thor High Street Advisors, Johnstone Property Consultants having started at Johnstone Hall in 2008.   

He has over 15 years experience or retail, restaurant and leisure leasing. He is a skilled negotiator and provides reasoned occupational and development advice. 

Laurie works for a variety of landlords and occupiers mainly within central London including the likes of Aviva, British Land, Frank Capital, Great Portland Estates, Shaftesbury Capital.    He has also acquired stores for a diverse range of occupiers including; TOAST, Thom Sweeney, Cambridge Satchel, Wanyoo and Savini.

Career highlights include:working on the leasing instruction on behalf of Shaftesbury Capital across their retail portfolio in Soho (inc Carnaby), China Town, Seven Dials, advising on the development of 1 Broadgate and about to embark on pre leasing of 30+opportunities in the heart of the City of London, pre-leasing Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross, Leasing phase II of Westfield London and helping to bring momentum in terms of leasing through to 2023, acquiring retail stores for Long Tall Sally and Fred Perry in mainland Europe and working with TOAST for over 10 years on their store acquisition programme.  

Laurie lives in Farnham, Surrey with his wife and two children.

Qualifications

  • MRICS in 2012. 
  • MA Property Valuation and Law from Bayes (formerly Cass) Business School in 2008.
  • BA Business & Economics from Exeter University
