    6-3-2 Defense

    Base & Responsibilities

    This is the basic 6-3-2 formation. Outside line backers must be your best ball tacklers. Safetys should be next, then MLB. DEs must be smart and disciplined. DTs should be best big men. NGs can be weakest players on Defense. Responsibilities: Nose Guards: 4 pt. stance heads up on offensive guard. Do not go deeper than 1 yard, look for ball carrier. Defensive Tackles: Same as nose guards except aligned over offensive tackle Defensive Ends: Must contain/box force the play back inside( defensive end goes after ball player when he sees his butt, through the backfield) Nothing gets outside him. Outside Linebackers: Must read then react filling the off tackle gaps or outside gaps. Can key near back or QB to flow. Inside line backers: Do the same read and react looking for the offensive guards movements ( pulling etc.) Safetys: First look pass then run mainly watching tight end release for the pass. If you happen to face an outside running team you can cheat the safetys out on outside shoulder of Outside line backer.
