Once persuasive writing is complete, students will glue their paper to red construction paper. To allow students a bit of practice cutting, Im providing my kinders with a simple Grinch pattern. Students will color, cut, and assemble to the top of their persuasive paper.

Review the format of a letter. Discuss addressing, body, and salutations. Create a list of reasons one should be happy during the holidays. The Christmas lights are pretty. TV has fun holiday movies on. The radio plays Christmas songs. The stores have lots of fun toys. You get to see family You get to eat holiday cookies! Students will write a letter to the Grinch persuading the Grinch to grin.
