For example, some of their responsibilities would be treating animals, their wounds, minor illnesses, including doing surgery on them if necessary, and inspecting or do research on the animal species (usually, a veterinarian only attends to 2 or less species of animals) and its diseases. They are also responsible to advise the owners on the care that their animals, or pets, need. In addition, Veterinarians will need to be able to handle and work with medical equipment (like operating X-Rays) and be able to work outdoors (if necessary) on any kind of weather or sometimes indoor like in laboratories and offices. Veterinarian Work Options There many different kinds of jobs a veterinarian can do like: Work with small animals or companions for people like dogs, birds, and cats-they treat the animals minor illnesses and do surgery on them. Work with larger animals or both large animals and small house pets-they specialize in treatment and care of animals like horses, sheep, and cattle Specialize in treating fish and poultry like duck, fish and geese Work as inspectors in the food industry examining the meatpacking and chicken-processing companies for any signs of disease Work on Veterinary medicine-where you must have an inquiring mind and great keen observation powers

Work Schedule The average time of work for a veterinarian could be about 40-60 hours of work per week depending if there are emergencies that may need to be responded or attended outside of scheduled work hours (after work ours might be needed). Traveling Requirements Some traveling will be needed and it could be a long distance travel to different countries, depending if it is an emergency call or plead of care or help from an animal hospitalon another country to take care of an injured animal. Career Salary Veterinarians, for their work, end up with a salary range up to $80,000-$150,000 or more, depending on the work that veterinarians do, like the kind of animal or species that they treat (usually a veterinarian Speech Social Studies English

Also, part of their work also comes from doing research on the animal species and their disease. Interest/Personalities Needed Veterinarians have a lot of requirements for education and care, but they are also needed to have some interests and a good sense of personality if they want to work. A veterinarian is required to have a good sense of hearing and seeing, includes no color blind problems. Also, they are needed to have great communication skills to speak to others, social skills, problem solving, reading, writing, speaking, listening, technical, and work environmental skills. In addition to all of these is good physical health (Upper and lower body strength) in order to lift animals when it is necessary. They will be required to talk to others and work with other people; its not always a single work job. Society Benefits Veterinarians help our society by protecting and curing the animals that live in our society when they are in bad shape, sick, or injured even if the animal is wild, endangered, or just a family pet. Keeping our animals safe keep the society safe from dangers and diseases; it also helps keep nature in its natural state. Another way Veterinarians help our society is that their research on diseases of the species of animals help keep our environment and the people safe from any harm from bacteria or any other kind of contagious spread of disease. In addition, Veterinarians also help the world of science by discovering new things about the animals, different diseases, and the new species that are discovered everyday!
