Hysterosalpingography

Hysterosalpingography is a minimally invasive procedure used to evaluate the uterus and fallopian tubes. During the procedure, a catheter is inserted through the cervix to inject contrast material into the uterine cavity. Fluoroscopic images are then taken to evaluate for uterine abnormalities, tubal patency, or other issues that could cause infertility or recurrent miscarriages. Potential risks are rare, while it provides valuable information with a minimal radiation exposure comparable to 4 months of background radiation. The procedure should not be performed if the patient is currently pregnant.
