I am sharing the job responsibilities of a Corrosion Engineer at our petrochemical unit. a. Determination of corrosion rates based on latest techniques and statistical studies b. Perform failure analysis related to corrosion c. NDT know-how in picking up the right one to detect different types of corrosion d. Cathodic protection survey and monitoring e. Act as a valuable member for modification jobs at plant f. Issue bi-annually report on corrosion issues at site g. Carry corrosion under insulation study of complete site h. Material selection and suggest alternates where required and stands possible i. Follow NACE standards and their implementation at site (where applicable) j. Fitness for service study of corroded pipelines k. Suggest repair procedures for corroded piping / pipelines

Corrosion related issues regarding pressure vessels and storage tanks Root cause analysis of corrosion related damages Knowledge of relevant API codes including API 570, 510, 653 in general Institute SCC study and its identification Suggest material advancements and their life to cost analyses Involve in Hazard Analysis and RBI program
