Formed in LA in 1997 by Dave King King was born in Dublin in 1961 Introduced to the spectrum of traditional Irish folk music, rock n roll, American folk, and punk rock. Fathers life was taken by cancer Immigrated to LA where he joined heavy metal band Fastway Started singing and writing songs in Irish folk style Morphed it together with poetic lyrics of Dylan and Cash, the raw sound and speed of the Clash and Sex Pistols, and the rhythmic patterns of T. Rex and The Who.

Every Dog Has Its Day


King hooked up with violinist Bridget Regan, guitarist Ted Hutt and drummer George Schwindt. Started making music and playing shows around LA. Molly Malones = Flogging Mollys CBGBs Georges brother Gary was a producer for SideOneDummy Records and urged them to see Flogging Molly Founders Joe Sib and Bill Armstrong saw the band live and signed them.

2000 Sold over 50,000 copies by 2001

2002 Reached 157 on the Billboard charts Certified GOLD by the RIAA

2004 Hit #20 on US Billboard 200 and #1 on the Independent Music Chart Dedicated to Joe Strummer and Johnny Cash

2008 Debuted #4 on the Billboard 200 chart Sold 48,000 copies in the first week Features a darker and more political tone

In 2010 they left SideOneDummy and formed Borstal Beat Records On that label they released Speed Of Darkness in 2011 Perform live every year on the Green 17 Tour Have performed in over 30 countries worldwide Have millions of fans of all ages and of all styles everywhere and they never take them for granted
