    Elizabeth Goble Price English 12 Period 2 October 31, 2013 Statement of Future Plans I initially did not want to attend Buckingham. I had wanted to follow my middle school friends to Armijo. My mother enrolled me in BCMHS anyway. She wanted me to do well in school, and it was later in my freshman year that I realized she had done me one of the biggest favors of my life. Buckingham has given me the chance to excel academically and to grow as a person. I dont know exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life, but I am ready to graduate high school and move on to the next chapter in my life: college. I hadnt done very well in middle school, so my freshman year at Buckingham was a little rough. I struggled from the very beginning to end of semester one and was lucky that my teachers cared enough to step in. They helped me to get back on track and to get motivated. After all: its my life and Im responsible for making sure I succeed. Thanks to my new outlook, b y second semester my grades drastically improved. And by sophomore year I was getting straight As and Bs. Junior year was the year I really blossomed. I took Chemistry and Theater Arts and found that I loved both subjects very much. Chemistry was one of the most stimulating subjects I had ever taken. Theater brought me out of the shell I built for myself in elementary school. Over the course of the year I found that both science and drama were both, in their own way, worlds of discovery.

    Although I still hold theater dear in my heart, I have decided on my major. I want to study in the area of veterinary science. I have always loved the idea of acting, but I believe that science is my calling. After I graduate from Buckingham, I will attend Solano Community College for two years, and then I will transfer to UC Davis to complete my major. I believe that attending Solano is the smartest move for me financially, and Davis is the best place for me to get a head start in the field of veterinary science. All of the challenges Ive faced at Buckingham have helped to prepare me for the next stage in my life. I truly believe that I am ready to take on a career in theater, and I am eager to begin my studies and begin to practice professionally the subject. Ive done my time in high school; its time for me to move on. Its time for me to achieve a higher education, and to be an adult.
