Intern, International Affairs Department School of the Art Institute of Chicago

Duties: Completed a 150 hour internship during the summer term for graduate credit Observed advising appointments with International Students while gaining basic knowledge and experience with SEVIS, PeopleSoft and F-1 and J-1 visa regulations

Department Overview: International Affairs provides advising, advocacy, and resources in support of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's (SAIC) international education and exchange programs and objectives. We represent the offices of International Student Services and Study Abroad/Off-Campus, working with the school community to offer the strongest possible complement of programs and services to the SAIC academic experience. Our mission is to serve and address the needs of our international population, thereby to create a school climate which welcomes and respects cultural diversity and prepares our students for effective participation in global citizenship.

Duties: Promote the Greenheart Club and volunteer opportunities to high school-aged exchange students, through newsletters, Facebook and email Develop materials/resources for participants on topics of global citizenship, leadership and service

Department Overview: CCI Greenheart is more than just a cultural exchange organization. It is committed to connecting people and planet. CCI Greenheart combines cultural exchange and community service to benefit the global community and environment through the Greenheart Club.
