Jurisprudence is divisible into three main
branches:
1) Analytical School
2) Historical School
3) Ethical School
Deals with law as it is in the present form
Most important aspect of law is its
relation to the state. Law is a command
given by the sovereign.
Therefore its also called imperative
school.
Study of law is neither concerned with
past nor future, only with actual
existence that is positus
Bentham and austin are considered to
be forerunners of the school
Hence, it is also called austinian school
of jurisprudence
