Introduction
Reason/Reasons for writing about my
research topic.
I wanted to prove that books are most
always better than the movie.
Doing this paper helped me to understand
this concept better.
This paper helps improve my knowledge on
understanding movies and books.
Thesis Statement
Why the first 4 books of a Series of
Unfortunate Events are better than the
movie version because the books give
more detail about a certain at one time,
while the movie spreads out thin
information.
Fact 1
The children, Violet, Clause,and Sunny,
find out they have lost everything; their
house and parents. In the movie the movie
they find out about their parents at the
beginning and their burned down house at
the end.
Evidence 2
When the children meet Count Olaf you are
told that he is evil and of his evil intentions.
While in the movie you are just told he is
evil at the beginning and you find out his
intentions at the end.
Evidence 3
In the books you are told that the children's
parents had spyglasses and tried to prevent
mysterious fires that killed themselves and
their family. The movie tells you that their
aunt, Josephine, had a picture of their family
and they all had spyglasses while later on
you are told they tried to prevent the
mysterious fires.
Evidence 4
In the book Count Olaf does a play about a
girl (Violet) who is going to get married to a
count(Count Olaf) and at the end of the
play he explains how he has their fortune.
When you watch the wedding in the movie
he does the play at the beginning of the
movie and explains how he has the fortune
at the end of the movie.
Evidence 5
When they meet aunt Josephine in the
book they tell you she is afraid of
everything, especially the docks because
he husband died at the docks. In the movie
aunt Josephine only tell you she is afraid of
the docks but when they have to go rescue
her you are told why she is afraid of the
docks.
Evidence 6
When the children meet their Uncle Monty
they find out about his love of snakes
through his speech but in the movie you
find out about his love of snakes when he
shows the children his reptile room.
Evidence 7
When you read the books you are told that
their parents sent them a letter and the
children read it together and it was sent
when they were alive. It also had another
spyglass. In the movie Violet and Clause
talk about the letter but you never see it
until the end.
Evidence 8
My last evidence is in the book Count Olaf
says he wanted supper done for him and
his theater group by eight o clock. In the
movie he tells the children that he wants
supper done for him and his theater group.
Once they are almost done he tells them
that he wanted supper done by eight o
clock.
Conclusion
In conclusion the books are better than the
movie because the books give keep the
information together while the movie
spreads out the information.
