Girls Lacrosse NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team Award Set the school conference record of 5-9 Carolyn Carrera set the school career goal record with 205 goals Recorded our frst OT game and win against Walt Whitman
Softball NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team Award In Casey Plits debut, she threw a 3-hit shut out in a 1-0 win Jess & Sarah Freeborn combined 4-6 with 3 runs, 2 triples, a double and 3 RBIs in the win over Huntngton On a Senior Night, the girls scored 5 runs in the botom of the 6th to take a 7-6 lead.

Awards Robert Dean Palmer Award The inscription on the plaque for this award begins with a prayer that reads in part, Lord, while a distance runner, you gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of daily practice, sportsmanship and teamwork the athletes honored with this annual award demonstrate and understand this belief.
James F. Gilhooley Award This award was established to honor James F. Gilhooley, a former coach, teacher, and athletic director for the Riverhead Central School District. We celebrate the tenacity, steadfastness, and dedication of distance runners each time we give this award.
Michael J. McKillop Award This award, established in 1999, honors the memory of our former athletic director, coach, and teacher. Recipients of this award embody the qualities of leadership, athleticism, scholarship, and character. They must excel in football and one other varsity sport.
Carl Smith Award This award was established to honor Carl Smith, a 1987 RHS graduate. Carl consistently achieved beyond all expectations; he had both an outstanding academic and athletic career at RHS as well as at University of Maine. His ability to focus and willingness to give 100% are the qualities he shares with each recipient.
Larry Chizever Award This award is to honor an athlete who excels in the sport of tennis while actively engaging in lifetime fitness.

Awards Walter Stewart Award This award was established in 1999 to honor a man who led the wrestling program in Riverhead for several decades, Walter Stewart. The qualities of initiative, dedication and courage describe each years recipients. To be eligi- ble to receive this award, an athlete must excel in two varsity sports, one of which must be wrestling.
Tony Daniello Memorial Award This award was established in 2005 to honor Tony Daniello, a Riverhead physical education teacher. May Tonys devotion to teamwork, his sense of humor, and his positive spirit live forever in the hearts of all Blue Waves.
Garfield Langhorne Award This award is given to two members of Riverhead track team to honor the memory of Garfield Langhorne; a Riverhead graduate and track and field athlete, who gave his life in the Vietnam War. He was a man of uncommon valor.
Gold Key Award This prestigious NYSPHSAA Award is presented to athletes who have, at the end of their high school careers, accumulated at least fifty-two points for participation in varsity and junior varsity sports, intramurals and leadership activities. Recipients of the Gold Key Award must consistently contribute to the athletic community in their school throughout their four years of high school.
