This document provides instructions for compositing drillhole assay data. It describes creating new tables in the database to store composite intervals and drillhole/solid intersections. It then details the steps to calculate composites from the assay data and drillhole/solid intersections, including creating composite profiles, preparing the composite table, and calculating the actual composites. Finally, it explains how to extract the uncomposited assay data and composite data to two separate point areas for visualization and comparison of the raw and composite grade values.

COMPOSITING
1) Make space for composites
Create/modify Workspace hnc New Table: Composite (interval) o Extra fields = C-LENGTH (real) length of material used to calculate composite COMP-ID (string) each composite is unique, must be exact spelling NI CO New Table = SldInt (interval) will store drillhole/solid intersects o Extra fields = Name 1, Name 2, Name 3 Rock code (Integer) Rock type (String) 2) Open hnc + Tin A solid 3) Drillhole Composite Update Workspace will drillhole/solid intersections a. Table for intersects = SldInt b. Name 1,2,3 c. Rock Type d. Rock Code = 65/221 holes 4) Drillhole Composite Compositing Profile a. New = COMP b. Composite, C-LENGTH c. Ni, Assay, Ni and Co, Assay, Co * Explicit missing sample = NS, NE, IS = I know that the value is missing * Implicit missing sample = no interval in database, may not have been sampled * Min.sample length = must make up 75% of composite length
5) Drillhole Composite Prepare Composite Table = created up drillhole & creates intervals (FROM-TO) a. Length within intervals from another table = subdivide solid into equal parts b. SLD_INT, 2m, Start from Collar, Create the last interval Look at FROM-TO of composite table (E)
6) Drillhole Compositing Calculate Composites 7) Display composites Extract to POINT AREA (A) Assays (B) Composites Create new workspace = PointAreaA . Ni, Co = added automatically (Grade Names)
(A) Workspace Extract points 1. Workspace source = hnc 2. Workspace target = PointAreaA 3. New Point area name = PointArea A (delete & replace) 4. Description = all uncomposited assays, date 5. Display Profile = none (create one later) 6. Data Tab = a. Assay, none, middle b. Assay, Ni, Ni c. Assay, Co, Co d. Header, Hole-ID, Hold-ID
(B) Workspace Extract points 1. Workspace source = DDH 2. Workspace target = PointAreaA 3. New Point area name = PointArea B (delete & replace) 4. Description = all composites 5. Display Profile = none 6. Data Tab = a. Composites, none, middle b. Composite, Ni, Ni c. Composite, Co, Co d. Header, Hole-ID, Hold-ID = Only composite points which intersect the Solid = NC (SLDINT) = -999 (PointArea)
Display PointArea B Format Point Areas COMP_NI & COMP_CO Click on More i. Use field values to decide ii. Field = Ni iii. Use this colour = NI_COMP iv.
