The Department of English at Bishop Moore College is organizing a two-day national seminar on October 23-24, 2014 about challenges in 21st century English classrooms. at Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara Posted on August 21, 2014 The Department of English, Bishop Moore College, Mavelikara, is pleased to invite you to the UGC Sponsored National Seminar on 21 st Century English Classroom: Perspectives and Challenges, to be held in collaboration with Centre for English Language Teaching, Institute of English, Thiruvananthapuram, English Language Teachers Interaction Forum (ELTIF) and English Language Teachers Association of India (ELTAI) on 23 rd and 24 th October 2014. The aim of this seminar is to bring together academics, scholars and ELT professionals throughout the country to engage critically in pedagogical and learning issues and challenges. We look forward to insightful papers on recent trends on the following themes or on related topics: Challenges faced in English classrooms across India. IT and English teachers. E-learning and language skills. Use of web technologies such as blogs, podcasts, social networks, Google docs, e-books, online maps, virtual field trips etc. Incorporating activities in the teaching-learning process. Modern trends in ELT. Technology and the English Classroom. Shifting role of teachers. The Globalization of English. Deadline for receiving abstracts (250 words) is 31st August 2014. Information regarding selection of abstracts is 10 th September 2014. Last date for receiving full papers is 30 th September 2014. The documentation should be in MLA style 7 th edition. Papers presented at the seminar will be published in our edited volume with ISBN number. Papers of merit will be published in the prestigious ELT journal, ELTIF.
