Writers Workshop:
! We continue to write small moments from our lives and
add lots of detail to stretch the moment across a lot of
pages.
! We continued to talk about how to make our writing
easy to read by stretching out words, putting spaces
between words, and getting a new paper when we need
to erase a lot.

Math:

We practiced writing numbers 1-10.

We introduced the subtraction sign.

We have entered the highly anticipated gingerbread

weeks in Kindergarten! This week, we read different
versions of The Gingerbread Man and talked about
how they are the same and different, wrote a
gingerbread cookie recipe, and made gingerbread
cookies. While our cookies were baking on
Wednesday, the lunch ladies opened the oven door
because they smelled sooo good and all of the
gingerbread cookies escaped! We have created a plan
to catch them and we have been trying ideas to find
them everyday. If you see themplease, please let us
know and DONT EAT THEM! J

Gingerbread Adventures:

Kindergarten Tip: We have now introduced all 25 kindergarten sight words. Continue to have your child
point these words out while reading and encourage them to write them. If you would like another copy of
the sight words, please let me know. I would be happy to get you one.
