    LIVING BY THE WORD: Rhema the spoken word


    Text:
    But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every
    word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4, NKJV)
    Introduction:
    The Word of God
    To live by the Word of God:
    We must address the ourselves: flesh, the soul and the spirit and set the priority right
    We must shift consciousness and emphasis from the flesh and soul to the Spirit
    The Rhema Word is what we live by! It's a Spirit Word!
    FLESH
    You feel.
    5 senses
    Bread is for the flesh. Necessary but not the real living!
    If you live according to the flesh you will die.
    Infact we can not really live by the Word until our flesh dies: you must not be led by the
    desires and appetites and cravings of the flesh but of the Spirit!
    SOUL
    You reason.
    You use, facts and figures, information and compute them in yr soul.
    Input from the flesh to your mind to think, reason, suggest and decide
    Your intellect.
    Our reasoning is completely different from Gods':
    SPIRIT
    You perceive
    We cannot see God because He is a Spirit, but we can perceive him thru our Spirit and the
    Holy Spirit.
    In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. (John
    1:1)
    To live by the Word of God, we must live by God/ Word.
    The Word of God is the food for the Spirit:
    Jesus answered them and said, Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because
    you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the
    food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of
    Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.
    It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are
    spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew
    from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. (John
    6:26-27, 63-64 NKJV)
    We must therefore be able to hear God Speak or rather be able able to hear Gods Word
    Speak!

    Jesus answered, Scripture says, A person cannot live on bread alone but on every word
    that God speaks. (Matthew 4:4 GW)
    Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes
    a steady stream of words from Gods mouth. (Matthew 4:4 MSG)
    Rhema:
    Gods Word has a voice, can you hear it?
    We can not live by what we read alone but by what we Hear:
    So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 NKJV)
    A) Logos

    Logos
    is the letter we read
    Logos resides in the head, Rhema in the heart
    Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the
    spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. (2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV)
    Beware because Satan also knows the logos!
    Rhema
    Rhema is the spoken word, the revealed word and the word that gives life and is alive in
    our lives.
    Rhema has the power
    Rhema is the spirit of d word- the 'spirit word'
    Remember that the Word is inspired by the Spirit and therefore can only be understood by
    the Spirit
    Logos will eventually lead you to the Rhema if you apply the necessary discipline and
    process by the Holy Spirit. It's not automatic though!
    Rhema is what transforms, changes and releases Gods power in our lives and situations
    Rhema is what the devil can not withstand
    Rhema puts the mind of God into our hearts and minds.
    For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
    piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner
    of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV)

    How does logos become Rhema?
    1. THE HOLY SPIRIT
    1a. Speaking it to your Spirit
    The Holy Spirit makes logos become a Rhema by speaking it to your spirit

    Rhema resides in the heart and spirit and therefore comes out when spoken. Logos
    resides in the head..
    Develop your spirit to the point that He speaks the word
    1b. Holy Spirit interpreting it
    Ask the Spirit of interpret to you before you read or study the Bible every time.
    1c. Holy Spirit revealing it: Revealation
    And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to
    make known the mystery of the gospel, (Ephesians 6:19 KJV)
    Remember the RHEMA LOOP (WORD LOOP):
    Head- Heart- Mouth!
    WHEN YOU READ, THE LOGOS IT IS STORED IN YOUR HEAD.
    WHEN YOU MEDITATE,IT IS STORED IN YOUR HEART.
    WHEN YOU CONFESS IT, COMES OUT FROM YOUR HEART INTO YOUR MOUTH
    Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of
    the heart the mouth speaks. (Matthew 12:34 NKJV)

    2. READ AND STORE THE WORD


    Cannot be stored by osmosis.
    Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds]
    and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in
    all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and
    hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.
    (Colossians 3:16 AMP)
    Regular Biblical diet!
    Must have the logos stored/saved and constantly renewed, and
    Develop a system
    Default is to forget!
    Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. (Psalms 119:11
    NKJV)
