The TS Whirlwind Orpington Sea Cadet Unit is seeking volunteers to serve as marshalls for the British Heart Foundation's London to Brighton Cycle Ride on June 21, 2015. The 54 mile cycling event raises funds for charity and passes through 15 rest stops along the route. Volunteering as a marshall for the event helps raise £90 for the cadet unit. The unit has registered 30 volunteers so far and is seeking 10 additional volunteers from the WCCA. Marshalls are needed from 6am to midday to assist riders at locations crossing the M25 motorway. London to Brighton Cycle Ride 21 June 2015 WCCA Marshalls Required. This is a British Heart Foundation Event and is open to riders to compete in the 54 miles challenge which is traditionally held on Fathers Day. There are 15 rest stops on the route where there are toilets and refreshments for the competitors. The Cadet Unit has traditionally provided Marshalls for this event and is a good fundraiser for the unit in that each volunteer raises 90.00 for the unit. The Unit has registered 30 volunteers for this years event which will raise 2,700 and Stephen and I have said to the Unit that we will get 10 volunteers from the WCCA and their friends. A Marshall is required to attend on the designated route location (to be advised later), which is usually around the M25 where the route crosses over or under the motorway. Marshalls are required to attend at around 6.00am in the morning and will be released at around midday after the last riders have passed through.
