ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM
Mostly used in science for spectroscopic and other probing interactions, and to
study and characterize matter.
Greater energy, the larger the frequency and the shorter the
wavelength.
Equation: Energy = hf
H = Plancks constant (6.626 x 10^-34 Js)
F =Frequency
Using this equation the only thing you have to plug in is the
frequency of the light.
To find the highest frequency you will have to compare the
lights frequency result and also you do the same in order to
find the highest energy.
F = 4.62 x 10^5 Hz
The frequency of red light with a wavelength of 650nm is 4.62 x 10^5 Hz.
F = 6.32 x 10^5 Hz
The frequency of blue light with a wavelength of 650nm is 6.32 x 10^5 Hz.
E = hf
E = 3.06 x 10^-28
The energy for red light is 3.06 x 10^-28.
E = hf
E = 4.19 x 10^-28
DATA
to be expected.
What changes could be made to improve the results?
A larger prism can improve the results of the temperature accuracy .
Summary:
Upon concluding the lab, we observed the temperature of each color
increased as the time passed. The longer the prism stayed out in the
sun, the temperature increased. Including, the size of the prism also
effected the size of the rainbow.
