Professional Experience:
I was a student teacher at Ken-O-Sha Elementary School which is part of the Grand Rapids Public School District in
Grand Rapids, Michigan from January 2011 to April 2011. I taught in Mrs. Lori Harts fifth grade classroom. I created
and implemented an instructional unit on the systems of the body, designed and taught lessons in language arts,
guided reading, math, social studies, science and attended staff meetings and presentations given by individuals from
The Institute for Learning. I also assisted in conducting spring conferences.
I completed my teacher assisting at Parkside Elementary School in Rockford, Michigan from August 2010 to December
2010. Parkside is part of the Rockford Public School District. I assisted in Mrs. Christie O'Hara's second grade
classroom. I was responsible for working with the students in large and small groups doing various tasks in each
subject area.
