    Plastic Insert

    The instructions on the 59CHCHIPB aftermarket


    chip packaging work with older Lexmark Optra T
    OEM cartridges. These instructions will not work
    on new Lexmark Optra T OEM cartridges due to a
    design change adding a plastic insert .
    The instructions below will ensure a proper fit for
    the 59CHCHIPB chip and newer Lexmark Optra T
    cartridges.

    1. Pry the OEM chip and plastic insert off the


    cartridge with a small flat screwdriver (Fig. 1).

    2. Peel the backing off the foam on the back of the


    aftermarket chip and attach to where the plastic
    insert was located. Notice that the cutout on the
    aftermarket chip fits into the plastic rib at the back
    of the cartridge (Fig. 2).
